Ring-necked Duck

Synopsis:
Breeds at locations mainly scattered throughout eastern Oregon,
the Klamath Basin, and the Cascades. Notable are
the records from the Willamette Valley, Coos County
(bred in 1999), and Blue Mountains (Little Morgan
Lake and possibly elsewhere). Most records from western Oregon and some
from eastern Oregon are likely of individuals that are
not breeding. Breeds more widely than depicted in Csuti et al. (1997).

Lake/Pond Shoreline & Islands (344076 acres)
Streamside/Wetland Shrubland (904 acres)
Relative Detectability:
Easy to spot and to confirm nesting, usually by noting
fledglings accompanied by adults.
Challenge:
Confirm breeding at additional locations in the Willamette Valley.
